Regrettably, the Westfield Fire Department announces that we will not be holding any of the public portions of our annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade this coming Sunday, May 24th. Like those who come out to watch or attend every year, we very much look forward to this event, one that we have held annually for 124 years. In this, our 125th year of remembering those veterans who have passed before us, the Westfield Fire Department will hold a small private ceremony where we will drive our apparatus past the East Street Cemetery and Miner Street Cemetery, followed by the traditional reading of the names of all those veterans interred in each. We will record and publish the reading of the names for anyone to see from the safety of their own home. We hope you will find safe and enjoyable ways to celebrate Memorial Day 2020. Please keep our veterans in your hearts. Lastly, please know that we remain ready, willing and able to protect our residents and visitors during these difficult times.
