The Budget meeting and Commissioner Election of the Westfield Fire District will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 @ 8:00 p.m. at the Westfield Fire Department, 653 East Street, Middletown, CT – see attached Legal Notice and proposed budget

Legal Notice – 2022 Budget & Comm Election Meeting

PLEASE NOTE:  the PDF below offers two scenarios, dependent on results of pending State legislation.

Scenario 1 (page 4) describes failure of the pending legislation.  This would mean continuing to apply the mill rate to motor vehicles.  This will result in a mill rate increase of 2.55%.

Scenario 2 (page 5) describes approval of the pending legislation, where property taxes will not be applied to motor vehicles, but the State will supply to the District a grant of $187,149 to cover some of the shortfall in revenue.  This will result in a mill rate increase of 5.27%

This legislation should be resolved by the May 10^th Budget Meeting; The District will only submit to the voters the appropriate scenario.
