 LEGAL NOTICE  - WESTFIELD FIRE DISTRICT

Legal Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Westfield Fire District, in the City of Middletown, that the Fire Tax based on the October 1, 2023 Grand List for Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicles becomes due and payable in full on July 1, 2024.  If taxes are not paid in full by August 1, 2024,they will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5 % per month from the due date of the tax (a minimum interest charge is $2.00 per assessed property/vehicle), as well as other collection costs.  

Payments may be made by mail; postmarked by August 1, 2024, or paid in person at the Office of the Tax Collector at 653East Street, Middletown, CT  06457.  A “Drop-Box” is also available outside the Westfield Tax Office.  Payments can also be made online at mytaxbill.net/westfieldfire  There is a convenience fee if you choose this payment option.  Credit card payments cannot be made in the office.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of his/her responsibility for the payment of taxes or delinquent charges.  C.G.S. Sec. 12-30.

If a receipt is required, please include the entire bill and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

If “BACK TAXES ALSO DUE” appears on your bill, please contact our office for the total balance due.  CASH or MONEY ORDER is required for an overnight DMV clearance.  Online payments may take up to ten (10) days to clear DMV’s system.  Registration compliance issues can be verified via the CT DMV website: CT.GOV/DMV
